About
The Strategic Staffing Solutions Turkey Trot, presented by Gardner White, kicks off America’s Thanksgiving Parade in Detroit. A 40+ year tradition, it offers 10K, 5K, and fun run options with costume-friendly festivities and large spectator crowds.
Catering & aid stations
Water stations on the courses, refreshments available inside Hall E of Huntington Place, and an on-course aid station area near the finish.
Pacers
Wave starts by pace corral (Yellow/Blue/Green/White) for 10K and 5K on the day; the 10K starts at 7:30 a.m. and the 5K at 8:30 a.m. All finishers are timed with B-tag (chip) on the back of the bib; the Mashed Potato Mile uses clock timing—participants record their own start and finish times.

What are the start times for each distance?
10K and Mile: 7:30 a.m.; 5K: 8:30 a.m. All start from the designated corrals/wave colors (Yellow/Blue/Green/White).
Are strollers and wheelchairs allowed on the course?
Yes, strollers are allowed in slower waves (not Yellow or Blue). Wheelchair participants can take part in slower waves as well.
Is there on-course food and water?
Yes, there are water stations on the courses, a refreshment area inside Hall E of Huntington Place, and an on-course aid station near the finish.
How do I pick up my race packet?
Advance packet pickup is November 14–21 at various locations, and on Thanksgiving morning at Huntington Place, Hall E, 6:00 a.m.–8:00 a.m.
