FAQ

What exactly is a SwimRun?

SwimRun is a sport combining freewater swimming and trail running, racing in 2-person teams with no transition zone — you swim in shoes and run in a wetsuit, switching back and forth multiple times. Distances vary from sprint (~10–15km) to traditional (30–75km). It originated in Sweden and is known for adventure, unpredictability, and team cooperation.

Do I need a DTU license or special equipment?

No DTU license or timed transitions required. You will swim in shoes and run in a neoprene suit. Optional aids like pull-buoys and paddles are allowed. Equipment help and loaner wetsuits are available.

What should I bring and how is the course marked?

The course is marked with buoys in water and signs on land. Bring your own wetsuit (or loan one), sturdy running shoes, change of clothes, and sun protection. Pack light but include essentials as aid stations provide water, electrolytes, and basic food.

What if the weather is bad or water temperature is high?

The event proceeds rain or shine. If water temperature exceeds the DTU threshold, neoprene will be mandatory; if very high, it may be prohibited — the event follows DTU rules and will announce any such requirement in advance.
