Sydney Ultra Marathons (SUM) proves that one of the world’s biggest cities still has deep, wild bushland on its doorstep, offering serious ultra distances run through Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, Garigal National Park, Manly Dam and surrounding reserves with competitive cut-off times for safety and compliance.

All races start from St Ives Showground, located approximately 27 minutes’ drive from the Sydney Harbour Bridge, within Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, Garigal National Park, Manly Dam and surrounding reserves.
Yes. Cut-off times: SUM 100 — 25 hours (final cut-off 8:00 AM Sunday 26 July 2026); SUM 50 — 10 hours (final cut-off 5:30 PM Saturday 25 July 2026); SUM 30 — 5 hours (final cut-off 1:00 PM Sunday 26 July 2026).
No. Pacers are not allowed for the Sydney Ultra Marathons.
Yes. There will be a bag drop available at the start and finish line for all races. During the SUM 100 there will be a bag drop available during the race.
Yes. All participants are required to carry the full list of mandatory gear from start to finish throughout the race. Random gear checks will be conducted before letting you into the starting corral.
