The Tears to Hope Relay Run raises awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG), organized by the Tears to Hope Society, featuring in-person relay routes and a virtual run/walk option.
Pacers run with each runner or lead their Wabano Run Wave to provide safety, support, motivation, and an escort back to vehicles after finish.

Registration is open until midnight the night before the event. You can register HERE. Choose your preferred distance and location option (in-person at one of the four community hubs or virtual run/walk 5K or 10K from anywhere).
The in-person relay is held across four communities (Prince Rupert, Nass Valley, Smithers, Kitimaat Village) on the last weekend of June each year, culminating at Ferry Island, Terrace, BC. The virtual run/walk can be completed from anywhere.
Yes! The event is inclusive: run, walk, stroll, or crawl — all participation counts. A virtual 5K or 10K is available if you can’t attend in person.
Yes, each runner has a dedicated support vehicle and volunteers along the route. Runners must run on the left facing traffic, wear reflective vests, and follow relay-specific traffic rules for safety.
