About
A classic fall race in Cleveland starting in Canal Basin Park along the Towpath Trail, offering marathon, half marathon and 10K options. The event supports Canalway Partners’ work to develop the Towpath Trail, Canal Basin Park, and projects within the Ohio & Erie Canalway National Heritage Area.
Catering & aid stations
On-course water, Gatorade, and port-a-potties located near mile markers 2.5, 4.5, 6.5 (Carb Boom energy gels), 7.5 (Carb Boom), 10.5, 12.5 (Carb Boom), 14.5 (Carb Boom), 18.5 (Carb Boom), 19.5 (Carb Boom), 21.5, and 24.5.
Pacers
Pacers will be provided for the full marathon and half marathon. Refer to the "Renntag für Laufende" schedule for target times per start wave and watch for Pacerguide flagging on race day.

How can I register?
Register online or by mail (form to be mailed to Canalway Partners, PO Box 609420, Cleveland, OH 44109).
How much is race registration?
Pricing varies by distance and time of registration. See the distance pages for detailed pricing tiers.
What do runners get?
All participants receive a long-sleeve shirt, custom bib, snacks at the finish line, and chance to win awards. Half marathon finishers also receive a finisher medal.
When do I need to register?
Online registration is available until noon on October 2, 2026. Packet mailing must be completed by September 14, 2026.
Can I walk the course?
Walkers are welcome but must register for the early start (full marathon) to finish within the time window. Walkers are not offered for the 10K and half marathon.
Where are the aid stations?
Aid stations with water, Gatorade, and portable toilets are located near miles 2.5, 4.5, 6.5, 7.5, 10.5, 12.5, 14.5, 18.5, 19.5, 21.5, and 24.5.
Is this a Boston Marathon qualifier?
Yes, the Towpath Marathon is USATF certified and is a Boston Marathon qualifier.
Are refunds available?
No, entries are non-refundable. You may switch to the virtual race option.
Can I transfer my registration?
Transfers are allowed for a $10 fee via the Run Signup profile before the registration deadline.
