About

The Turbine Backyard Ultra is a 4.1-mile loop backyard ultra format (Big’s Backyard Ultra) held on private land. Each hour competitors must complete the loop before the bell; only the last person standing finishes. Includes team and solo options, with food and drink stations along the course.

Pacers

The event uses pacemakers displayed by Pacerflaggen on the day. Target times per Startwelle are set for each wave to help competitors manage effort; pacers run the 4.1-mile (6.6 km) loop on the hour to keep the field on schedule. Pacers are experienced runners who signal splits and help maintain rhythm, and they must be removed at road crossings or when marshals instruct.

FAQ

When is registration and what does it include?

Registration typically opens a couple of hours before the race start. Entry includes race number, timing, access to the Runners Food Station with water, hot drinks, soup, snacks, cakes, and use of the dry area for post-race clothing. Mandatory kit specified on the event page is required.

What should I wear and bring?

Wear appropriate clothing for the weather. For day or night running, a headtorch with spare batteries is essential. Waterproof jacket with taped seams is recommended. Mandatory kit listed on the race requirements must be carried or you may be disqualified.

Can I transfer my entry?

You can transfer your entry up to a reasonable date within the entry system. Details are on the entry system; the organizers do not process transfers directly.

What happens if I drop out?

All events are circular and return to the start. If you need to drop out, make your way to the next marshal or checkpoint and you will be transported back to the start as soon as possible.

Are headphones allowed?

Headphones are banned from all races except ultras. For ultras, headphones are permitted but must be removed at road crossings or when any marshal or race official instructs you to do so.
