About
The Thornhill 10K – Round The Frews is held in honour of local dairy farmer Steven Black, who passed away in 2020. Neil MacLaren ran 10K every day for a year to fundraise for Beatson Cancer Charity, and the event now continues that legacy with route laps around Thornhill.
Catering & aid stations
Hot and cold food and drinks available in the Thornhill Community Hall. Funds raised from catering support the event charity partner.
Pacers
Chip timing provided by Perfect Timing Scotland for both 10K and 2.5K. Participants wear a numbered race tag and a timing chip integrated into the tag. Results are posted online and on social media after the event.

FAQ
What are the age limits for the 10K?
Participants must be 15 years old on the day of the event to take part in the 10K.
What are the age limits for the 2.5K?
Participants must be 8 years old on the day of the event to run the 2.5K on their own. Runners aged 7 and under can take part with an adult aged 18+, who will run with them.
Is there car parking available?
Yes. Car parking is based in fields close to the event hub.
What is included in the entry fee?
Entry fee includes professionally organised event, medal for all participants, water at the finish, electronic chip timing, medical provision across the route, free access to photos, race hydration from Active Root, and parking close to start/finish.
Can I defer, transfer or get a refund?
Deferrals must be requested up to 1 month before the event and must be used the following year (not a second deferral). Transfers are allowed up to 1 week before the event. Refunds can be requested until 1 month before the event, subject to a 10% admin fee. After these dates, places can only be transferred.
