About
The 21st annual Johnson City Turkey Trot is an iconic Thanksgiving Day race and community tradition — part running event, part homecoming. Hosted by Up & At ‘Em, Inc., it draws over 5,000 friends and family for a 5k fun run/walk with options for in-person participation, virtual entry, and packet pickup at Memorial Park Community Center.

What is the race date and location?
Saturday, November 25, 2025 at 8:30 a.m. at Memorial Park Community Center, Johnson City, TN.
Can I run virtually?
Yes. A virtual option is available: complete the 5k on your own schedule and submit your GPS file or app screenshot to receive official recognition and a finisher medal by mail.
What are the registration deadlines and fees?
Online registration closes at 6 p.m. on race day. Walk-in registration is available at Memorial Park Community Center. Fee tiers rise during the day: $20 until Aug 20, $25 during race week, $30 on packet pickup days, and $35 on race day.
Is there a refund policy?
The event has a no-refund policy due to pre-ordered shirts, medals, and bibs. Alternatives include transferring your entry to someone else, switching to the virtual option, deferring to the next year, or contacting info@thegoosechase.org for exceptions.
What should I bring or expect on race day?
Packet pickup is available November 23–24 at Memorial Park Community Center. Participants receive a race t-shirt, medal, and awards. The course is a 5k out-and-back near the Tweetsie Trail.
