A community 10k series in Yateley, Hampshire, held each summer across three races with a junior fun run. Organised by Sandhurst Joggers with support from local volunteers and sponsored by Alton Sports.
Water aid station toward the bottom of Longwater Road. Bring a bottle to place on a table at the finish to reduce plastic waste; no other drinks provided.
No pacers. The race is run on public roads with only partial closures; pacers would create clusters of runners and are not used.

Any entrants from unaffiliated clubs or who are unattached to any club are not insured unless they have paid this extra fee. Insurance cover is a condition of entry.
EA membership is £20 per year – this is either paid for by your club as part of your subscriptions, or you may need to arrange as an addition to your club subs. However we would recommend that you speak to your club committee to understand how they arrange for this.

Your age category will be determined from your age on the first race The reason for this date is that it eliminates issues where a runner may have a birthday during the series.

No refunds are available. In the event that the race has to be cancelled we will still need to pay for all of the services and so we will be unable to refund the race cost to runners.
Deferrals can only happen IF there are spaces in the next race. If there is space then you will be able to defer to races within this series only.

No. The start and finish is on grass and is unsuitable for wheelchair users.
Yes, if you are aged 70 and over on the race day. Discount will be applied automatically on entry portal. Free entries may also be awarded at the race director’s discretion. Please note that free places are not eligible for a prize for winning an age category. If an initial entry has been paid for. but deferred to another race in the series, then you will be eligible for a prize.
No. We have a maximum number of 800 runners – once that is reached we cannot accept any more. The maximum has been pre-set following discussions with the police authority and our insurers. Each race is usually full a few weeks before the race day so we have no need for entries on the day. Entry to the junior run can be carried out on the day unless the 175 entrant limit is reached.
The race admin desk will be in the Yateley United Football Clubhouse. Please ask for the information desk. It will be staffed from about 18.00 on race day.

Mostly gently undulating with one moderate hill. The final kilometer or so is very flat.
No toilets on the course – However there are a number of portaloos near the car park at the back of the YUFC clubhouse..
The kilometer markers are on the nearest post to actual distance so may be out by anything up to 20m. They are there only as an indication.
There will be a water aid station toward the bottom of Longwater Road. You can bring a bottle to place on a table at the end of the race in order to reduce plastic waste.
With our commitment to sustainability, we have no plastic bottles this year of water. Please bring with you a filled bottle. Label your bottle and place it on the table with your number range on it. If your bottle is not easily recognisable, please label it with your number using the labels and pens provided. There will be water available for you to refill your own bottle
One lap. The finish is in the same place as the start.
There are partial road closures for certain sections, but please be prepared for open road running with traffic passing from behind. Please see route map. There will be temporary road closures for the following: Mill Lane to enable safe exit from Sean Devereux Park on the road up past Horseshoe Lake. Lower Sandhurst Road (from Ambarrow Lane junction to Cricket Hill), Cricket Hill to Longwater Road Southbound on Longwater Road down to Reading Road The roads from Sean Devereux Park to Longwater Road will reopen once all runners have safely completed those stages of the race.

Yes – one of the major reasons for changing the course was so that runners can enjoy the delights of the countryside around Yateley.
Medals will be presented to all finishers in the finish area. Vouchers will be given to all members who win their categories. These will be sent to people after the race. Spot prizes will be given to selected entrants at the finish. There is a £250 bonus for setting a new course record during the series. Due to the quantity of entrants in some of the categories, there is no real competition and therefore no further prizes. This is reviewed annually and if the quantity increases then we will introduce prizes.
For each race, entrants are awarded points, from 20 down to 1, within their category. These are added up and after three races the entrants with the best total points in their category win prizes. In the event that the points are tied, the entrant with the better total time over the three races is awarded a prize over those with inferior times. If total points and times are equal, the criterion is which entrant beat the other more often over the three races. If they tie after that, a coin will be tossed to determine the winner.
There is an opportunity to purchase official Yateley 10k race series technical running tops in 2026. You will receive a link to order yours when you receive confirmation of your entry. Tops come in pink or blue, mens or ladies fit and are priced at £21 including postage. They feature a map of the Yateley 10k route on the back.
The prize giving will take place as soon as possible after the race has finished.
There is no official race photographer.

Yes, EMTUK (Canope Medical Services) provide medical cover for the race.
There will be first aid around the course and at the finish line. Please ask a marshal if you need any assistance.
If you’re a quick walker! See ‘Is there a cut-off time?;
There is a 40 minute cut off time for runners to get to 5km. If you do not get to 5km by 40 minutes then the sweep bikes will move past you and onto the next runners who has made the cut off. You can still continue on the route but the roads will be opened and we will begin to pack up the finish (due to light). We hope you understand this. We are only given road closure orders for a specific window of time and so we need to have the roads back open to ensure that we meet these times limits.
Because the race is over a new course for 2025 there will be new course records. For the previous course the records are: Male: Sam Haughian 29:47 2003 Female: Louise Small 34:16 2015 The prize for breaking the course record in 2025 will only apply from the second race.

The main race starts at 19.30 in June and July, 19.00 in August. The junior fun run starts at 19.40 in June and July, 19.10 in August.
No. Dogs are not allowed as they are an obstacle to other runners.
No. The race is run on public roads with only partial closures. Having pacers would likely mean clusters of runners in and around the pacer which could more dangerous on sections with more traffic.

Yateley, Hampshire, has been home to a mid-week 10K series since around 1987. We believe that the first races were the Yateley half-marathons, held in the summers of 1980-83. After that they became converted to a series of three 10K races, held at 7:30 in the evening on the first Wednesday of June, July and August at Frogmore Campus on a now-defunct course. Sandhurst Joggers took over responsibility for the organisation of the series in 1992.

We encourage runners to run without headphones and enjoy the atmosphere. However, we also acknowledge that some people do like to run with music and so bone conductor headphones (as approved by UK athletics) are allowed.
