FAQ
Can someone else pick up my packet?
Yes. Bring a copy of your ID (printed or on your phone).
Are strollers allowed?
Yes, for the 5K Race only; start at the back of the pack.
Are pets allowed?
Dogs are allowed for the 5K Dog Jog only.
Is the course hilly?
The 5K & 10K are flat and fast around the boulevards near KEVA; the Half Marathon has a few hills but is mainly flat and scenic.
What if there is bad weather?
The race will go rain or shine. If thunder occurs within 30 seconds after lightning, a 30-minute delay will be implemented; the course cutoff times remain the same.
What is the minimum age to participate?
At the parent’s discretion; any participant under 18 must have a parent/guardian sign the waiver. The kids Race is for ages 5–10.
What is the course time limit?
Half Marathon: 3 hours; 10K: 1.5 hours; 5K and Kids Run close with the 10K.
What if I am not going to finish before the course closes?
You are welcome to finish; volunteers will help where possible, but support may be limited and you may be asked to move to the sidewalk.
Is there medical support on the course?
Yes. Middleton EMS will be stationed at the finish line, City of Middleton police at key intersections, and all aid stations have basic first aid kits.
What is provided at the Aid Stations?
Water and sports drink, plus cheers from volunteers.
Are headphones allowed?
Yes, but you are responsible for knowing the course and listening to volunteers.
Do I get a finisher medal?
All finishers of every distance receive a finisher medal. Yes, ALL of you, even the kids.
Can I get a refund if I can't race?
Refunds are not offered under any circumstances.
Can I change my registration?
We can change your registration at packet pickup. There are no refunds for downgrades but there is a fee to upgrade to a longer distance.
What is included with my registration?
Every registered runner receives a racer bib & timing chip, an official race shirt, finisher medal (after finish), and a post-race beverage. There is also free, live music at the Finish Line Festival.
What charity does this event support?
The Haunted Hustle supports Run Strong Madison as its official charity partner, along with other local charities.
