Über die Veranstaltung

Since 2003, every first Sunday in August, island trail specialists meet in Ghisoni for A Corsa di l’Oriente — a true mountain race on Corsica’s ridges and transhumance trails, part of the Skyrunner National Series.

Verpflegung & Versorgung

Refreshed by water and snacks at three checkpoints on the climb and descent; end-of-race meal (Spuntinu) served in Ghisoni. Only runners with a visible race number have access to refreshment areas.

Pacer

Pacemakers will be present for the Solo and Relay races. Target times per start wave are indicated in the race regulations; Pacers wear identifiable bibs and will provide drafting assistance where permitted.

How can I register?

All registrations are done on our partner's website: https://www.coursedeloriente.fr/en/registration/

What registration fees apply?

Solo trail race: 25€; Relay trail race: 50€ per team; Solidarity walk: 10€.

Who can participate?

The race is open to all runners, with or without an athletics license, adults aged at least 18 years in the year of the event. Non-licensed and foreign participants must provide a certificate of completion of the Health Prevention Course (PPS) set up by the FFA.

What is the maximum duration and are there cut-off times?

The maximum time for the event is 6h30. There are checkpoint cut-off times: CP1 (Cardo sheepfold) 1h30; CP2 (Oriente) 3h00; CP3 (Capanelle) 4h00; CP4 (Scarpaghjelle sheepfold) 4h45; CP5 (Cardo sheepfold) 5h30; arrival at Ghisoni 6h30. Non-compliance leads to elimination.

What equipment is mandatory?

Mandatory equipment: a survival blanket, a distress whistle, a water supply minimum 1L, food reserve (2 energy bars). The use of walking sticks with protected ends is permitted.

Is personal insurance required?

Yes. Personal accident insurance is each competitor's responsibility. The organizer holds personal liability insurance for the event.

Where can I collect my race bib?

Bibs must be collected on presentation of an identity document and a PPS certificate at Sainte-Marie church, Ghisoni village, the day of the race from 6:30am to 8:00am.

Are there showers after the race?

Showers are available after the race inside the gite 'U Pianu', next to the city hall.

Results are available on our partner's website and on this site on Monday morning.
