The Arctic Circle Race is recognized as the world’s most challenging and breathtaking cross-country skiing competition. This three-day adventure race spans 160 and 100 kilometers, with participants spending two nights in a camp nestled amidst the mountains and wilderness of Sisimiut, Greenland. The event had its origins in 1998 when local visionaries aimed to establish the world’s toughest cross-country skiing event, resulting in the formation of the Arctic Circle Race, which has since become a culturally significant event in the community.
Verpflegung & Versorgung
Aid stations provide food and drink along the route; hot drink in thermos (0.5–1.0 liter) is recommended, plus energy bars/food for at least 24 hours. On-course water and light refreshments are available at drinking posts and the ACR camp.
Pacer
The Arctic Circle Race offers paced support with designated pacers and target times per start wave displayed at the race venue (Taseralik Cultural House) and on the race morning—follow flags and volunteer instructions. Paced groups are aligned to wave start times to help participants maintain target splits.

What are the race distances and start times?
The race offers 160 km and 100 km trail distances, both starting at ~09:00 from the Taseralik Cultural House (ACR Arena) on race morning.
What is the registration fee?
Fees are displayed on the registration form: 95 EUR for 160 km and 75 EUR for 100 km.
What should I bring?
Required kit includes race number, chip, skis (classic only), warm layered clothing, thermos with hot drink, 24h emergency rations, map folder, and headlamp. Full list is available on the registration page and at the check‑in hut.
Is there support on the course?
Yes — there are drinking posts with food and drink, medical and security teams, snowmobile and dog-sled support, and pacers with target times per start wave.
Where do I collect my race pack?
Race packs and luggage labels are issued at Sisimiut Airport or the Taseralik Cultural House during registration.
