Über die Veranstaltung

An annual marathon event in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand, offering scenic courses along the coast and through vineyards with support for various distances from kids run to full marathon.

Pacer

Pacers will be provided across each start wave at the Runaway Hawke’s Bay Marathon and Half Marathon. Pacers will aim to run at the target times displayed on the bib pick-up sheet (linked during registration) and will carry a ‘Pacer’ flag. Specific pacer target times are available in the ‘Event Schedule’ page.

FAQ

What is the age eligibility for each distance?

Marathon: Must be 18 on race day. Half Marathon: Must be 16 on race day. 10km: Must be 10+ on race day. Kids Run: Aged 5–12 on race day (5–9 must be accompanied by an adult).

Are refunds available?

Athlete withdrawals are refundable according to the dates stated on the entry-info page: up to 45% until 20 Feb 2027, and up to 22% until 3 April 2027. After these dates, refunds are not available.

What is the course surface like?

The courses are flat and easy running, mixing sealed roads and hard-packed limestone through orchards and vineyards.

What time is the marathon start?

The marathon starts at 8:20 am on Saturday, 15 May 2027.
