Auckland’s premier winter trail series with six off-road events for all levels — from easy walks to challenging runs through native bush, pine forests and farmland. All events are cup free and held within an hour of the CBD.
Verpflegung & Versorgung
All events are cup free. Please bring your own reusable cup, hydration pack or water bottle. Collapsible cups ($5) and soft flasks ($10) are available at event base.
Pacer
Pacemaker events align with published start waves. All Pacers/RCJs must arrive 30 minutes before their wave. Please check published start times and wave details for your event on each location page. Pacers are required to carry event signage and wear high-visibility vests; they may not cut courses or accept pacing help from non-entries.

FAQ
Do I need to carry mandatory gear for any events?
Yes — the Hunua Super Long course requires a long sleeve top (polyprop or wool), beanie, survival blanket, waterproof seam-sealed jacket, and gloves. Compulsory gear is checked at registration; no gear, no race.
Are dogs allowed?
Dogs are welcome at most events but are not permitted within the campground at Hunua or on any course. Service animals only where mandated by venue or local rules; always check individual location details.
What if I’m new to trail running?
All courses offer walk options and beginner-friendly surfaces. Start times are staggered to manage flow. Arrive at least 45 minutes early, attend the briefing, and carry a basic kit (first aid, phone, whistle, extra layers).
Can I register on the day?
Registration typically closes at the listed event times. The series sells out and registrations are not available on the day. Please pre-register and arrive at least 45 minutes before your start.
Are there age limits?
Yes. Short course: children 11 and under should run/walk with a parent/guardian. Mid/Long courses: under 11s not permitted without prior approval. Super Long: under 14s not permitted without prior approval.
