Who is eligible for DocSpot?
The following is a list of what qualifies a patient for DocSpot:Family history of coronary heart diseaseHigh risk of developing cardio-vascular diseaseHigh blood pressureCOPDStroke / TIAPulmonary disordersMetabolic disordersOsteo-ArthritisRheumatoid-ArthritisMultiple SclerosisFibromyalgiaBack ProblemsMild skeletal and muscular injuriesParkinsonís diseaseStress, anxiety or depressionHigh cholesterol levelsPoor lifestyle (diet, smoking, sedentary)AsthmaOsteoporosisType II diabetesType I diabetesArthritisStable AnginaMuscle, ligament and joint injuries or painsObesity / OverweightCancerSusceptibility to falls
What can a patient expect?
A 12 week programme of physical activity designed specifically for them, to meet their needs and goals. A supportive and friendly environment.Qualified exercise professionals who will provide your patients with the skills and knowledge to help them become more active.Work at their own pace and within their own capabilities. Regular feedback and exercise programme adjustments to help with their progress.Available to adults aged over 16, who live or work in Solihull or Coventry council districts.
What might excludes a patient?
(Unless special arrangements have or are made)Patients exhibiting clinical signs of heart failure Angina pectoris (pain or discomfort in the chest or surrounding areas that seem ischaemic in nature)High blood pressure / Hypertension > 160/100Unaccustomed shortness of breath or shortness of breath with mild exerciseDizziness or syncopePalpitations or tachycardiaUnstable diabetes – Type 1 or type 2Active foot problem eg ulcerationHistory of myocardial infarction within the last 6 monthsEstablished cerebro-vascular disease
