FAQ
If I cannot attend the race (due to injury or other reasons), what should I do?
The registration and cancellation policy is available here. Refunds of the registration fee or transfers to the next event are not possible. Runners who purchased insurance at the time of registration can independently claim their insurance by providing appropriate documentation (via their myUTMB profile). Runners who did not purchase insurance at the time of registration may request a partial refund by submitting appropriate medical documentation. Refunds will be processed according to the following timeline: Until May 1, 2026: 60% refund. Until August 1, 2026: 30% refund. After August 1, 2026: No refunds will be issued, regardless of the reason for the runner's inability to participate in the event. If a runner does not attend the event, they forfeit their race pack and all other benefits granted to participants, regardless of the reason.
I have registered for the race but would like to change the distance (longer/shorter). Is this possible?
Distance changes are possible only until August 18, 2026, subject to availability. Runners can make the change themselves using their profile (access details are provided in the confirmation email). After August 18, 2026, distance changes will no longer be possible. No exceptions.
Can I transfer my registration to another runner?
Yes, transferring your registration to another runner is possible until August 18, 2026. Runners can complete the transfer themselves in their personal zone via the “Transfer to a friend” option (in the dashboard they accessed through the confirmation email). A €20 fee applies to each transfer. After August 18, 2026, runner changes will no longer be possible. No exceptions.
Until when can I register?
The registration deadline is September 3, 2026, or until the available spots on each course are filled. If spots are available, registration will also be possible at the event during bib pick-up. The number of available spots will be announced after the registration period closes on September 3, 2026.
Where can I find the list of registered participants?
The list of registered participants will be published after the registration period closes (after September 3, 2026**).
Do I need a medical certificate to participate in the race?
A medical certificate is not required. All participants race at their own risk.
When can I pick up my race bib?
Bib pick-up will take place at the Vitranc Hall in Kranjska Gora (Kolodvorska ulica 1a, Kranjska Gora) according to the following schedule: Thursday, September 17, 2026: 13:00 – 21:00 (for distances: 50km and 120km) Friday, September 18, 2026: 06:00 – 08:00 (for distance: 50km); 9:00 - 12:00, 15:00 – 20:00 (for distances: 120km and 80km) Saturday, September 19, 2026: 14:00 – 20:00 (for distances: 25km, 15km and 10km) Sunday, September 20, 2026: 07:00 – 10:00 (for distances: 25km, 15km and 10km)
Can someone else pick up my race bib?
Runners must pick up their bibs in person (mandatory gear will be checked during pick-up, and participants must sign a liability waiver).
How do I book a bus?
Bus transportation to the start is organized for runners on the 120 km, 80 km, and 50 km distances. You can reserve a seat during registration. Until August 18, 2026, runners can add a bus reservation by editing their registration (log in, select "edit registration," add "1" under "bus transfer to the start," save, and pay).
Do I have to take the bus to the start?
There are NO parking spaces near the 80 km start in Bled and the 50 km start in Žirovnica. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you book a bus to take you to the start. We will also organize separate bus transportation for accompanying persons so that your family can cheer you on at the start (more information will follow in the coming months).
When and where do the buses depart?
Buses depart from the parking lot below the ski slopes (approximately a 15-minute walk from Vitranc Hall) according to the following schedule: Friday, September 18, 2026: 06:00 departure to Žirovnica (50 km) - 1st group Friday, September 18, 2026: 07:45 departure to Žirovnica (50 km) - 2nd group Friday, September 18, 2026: 19:00 departure to Radovljica (120 km) Saturday, September 19, 2026: 06:00 departure to Bled (80km) Runners must be at the bus stop at least 15 minutes before departure.
Is transportation back to the start available after the race?
More information about timetables and booking options will follow in the coming months. Runners will be notified of this via email.
Transition bags for the 120km distance
Runners on the 120km course will receive one transition bag for the Žirovnica station. Bags must be labeled with the start number and dropped off at the designated area in Vitranc Hall in Kranjska Gora: Thursday, September 17: 17:00 – 21:00 Friday, September 18: 08:00 – 12:00 and 15:00 – 18:00 Bags can be retrieved after the race in Vitranc Hall (same drop-off location) no later than Sunday, September 20, by 09:00.
Finisher bags (120km, 80km, 50km)
Runners on the 120 km, 80 km, and 50 km distances will receive a finisher bag (for the finish line). You can drop your bag at the start in the designated van, or at Vitranc Hall during bib pick-up. Bags must be labeled with your race number. You will receive a sticker together with your race number — place this sticker on your bag. Bags cannot be left on the bus, as buses do not return to Kranjska Gora. Bags can be collected after the race in Vitranc Hall no later than Sunday, September 20, by 09:00.
Where can I find the locations of aid stations?

What food will be available at aid stations?
Aid stations will provide: Food: Energy bars, bananas, apples, oranges, tomatoes, cucumbers, soup, cheese, salami, peanuts, chips, cookies. Drinks: Water, isotonic drinks, Coca-Cola. At the finish line, a hot meal will be available for all runners (meat/vegan/gluten-free options). Runners on the 120km course will also have a hot meal at the Žirovnica station.
Can I charge my devices at aid stations (120/80km)?
Most aid stations have electricity, except for Tofov Graben and Talež. Runners must bring their own chargers and adapters.
Is sleeping allowed at aid stations?
Some beds will be available at Podhom, Žirovnica, and Dovje.
How long can I stay at the refreshment station?
The stop at the refreshment station is not limited in time, runners should pay attention to the time limits.
Is it possible to charge watches and phones at the 120/80km refreshment stations?
Most stations have electricity – the exceptions are Tofov graben and Talež. Chargers and adapters must be carried by the runner.
Where can I call in an emergency?
The organizer’s emergency number will be listed on the BIB number.
Will there be showers available after the race?
Showers will be available in the Vitranc sports hall (Kranjska Gora).
I want to help a runner during the race. What are the restrictions?
Runners can only be helped at the refreshment station and not between stations, they are completely self-sufficient there. Assistance is only allowed at certain refreshment stations. Information on where assistance is allowed and where not, can be found under the section ROUTE DESCRIPTION at each distance: https://julianalps.utmb.world/races/120K.
Will there be a follower race guide?
Information will be available in the “race guide”, which will be prepared for the runners.
Are the refreshment stations accessible by car?
All refreshment stations are accessible by car, except Ratitovec, Golica and Tofov Graben.
Will it be possible to watch the race live?
Yes, there will be live streaming via the Alpe Adria Trail Cup Facebook profile.
Will runners be geolocated?
The 120km runners will have GPS trackers. Online monitoring will also be possible – the link will be published in the week before the event.
Where can I find the ».gpx« files of the routes?
GPX files for individual distances are available on the “ROUTES” tab: https://julianalps.utmb.world/races. The final files will be uploaded at the end of August, as small changes are still possible.
Is the route marked?
The routes are marked with orange stripes, flags with reflectors visible in the night and boards. We recommend that runners download the GPX file to their watch before the race (make sure it’s the final course version), just in case of sabotage or removal of course flags and markings.

Where can I find a list of mandatory equipment?
The list of mandatory equipment is available here. The organizer reserves the right to make changes in case of exceptional weather conditions. Each runner must have their own reusable cup.
Mandatory equipment check.
Runners must bring all mandatory equipment to the BIB pick up. The inspection will be carried out at the time of BIB number pick up. Mandatory equipment can also be checked at the start or on the course. It is the duty of the runners to have the mandatory equipment with them from the start to the finish line.
What happens in case of incomplete mandatory equipment?
Each runner must show the mandatory equipment if required. For each missing piece of mandatory equipment, the runner gets 0.5 hours extra. If a runner refuses to show equipment, he is disqualified.
Running poles
If runners choose to take hiking poles with them, they must carry them for the entire duration of the race. It is forbidden to start without poles and get them during the course of the race. No poles are authorized in the spare bags.
Transfers from/to airports.
How to get to Kranjska Gora? Information on how to reach Kranjska Gora is available on the destination website. For a simple and reliable transfer, we recommend booking a shuttle with GoOpti. Other shuttle services include Taxi Airport Ljubljana, Point2Point, and MyWay prevozi. The nearest airport is Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport. Is there a camp nearby?
Camp Špik: https://www.camp-spik.com/en/ Natura Eco Camp: https://naturaecocamp.si/ Camping Kamne: http://campingkamne.com/index.php/en/ At the destination, there is a parking lot for motorhomes in the Nordic Center in Planica, motorhomes can also spend the night in several campsites at the destination. The motorhome can also be parked in Kranjska Gora and in Rateče by the intermittent Lake Ledine.
Where can I park?
You can check available parking locations in Kranjska Gora and their prices at this link. We recommend choosing full-day parking at discounted rates. Parking areas near the Vitranc Hall (event venue) will not be available. From Friday to Sunday, free parking will be provided for participants in Podkoren (below the FIS slope). A local bus runs from the nearby bus stop on the main road towards Kranjska Gora approximately every hour. You can also walk to Vitranc Hall via a well-maintained cycling/walking path (approximately 3 km).
