An enchanting off-road trail running adventure through the rolling Waikato farmland and iconic Hobbiton Movie Set, featuring steep inclines, spectacular viewpoints, and immersive Middle-earth scenery.
Verpflegung & Versorgung
Aid stations offer water and toilets; The Shire’s Rest and Halfling Event Village provide food and beverage options (including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks from Good George). No single-use cups or plastic are provided to reduce waste.
Pacer
The Halfling Marathon (21.1 km) starts at 14:10 and the Eleventy-first (11.1 km) at 15:10. Walks for each distance start 10 minutes after the corresponding run start. Both runs and walks finish at the finish line across from The Shire’s Rest. Pacer flags will be provided at each start wave.

What is included in my registration?
Included: entry into your chosen distance, finishers medal, branded souvenir Stein, collapsible reusable water cup, aid stations (water, toilets, first aid), race photography, spot prizes, and access to the Halfling Event Village and start/finish zones. Notes: no single-use cups/plastic; service dogs only in the Village; prams not permitted on course.
Are the courses wheelchair accessible?
No — the off-road trail terrain is not suitable for wheelchairs; all entrants must follow the same path for their chosen distance.
Can I visit the Movie Set before the event starts?
Access to the Movie Set is only available during the race as part of the course or via a booked Hobbiton Movie Set tour on event day morning; spectators cannot enter the Movie Set during the event.
When is prize giving?
Prizegiving will be held at the Halfling Event Village at 6:00pm on race day, 20 March 2027.
