Here at Midland Mencap we listen to our citizens, their families and Carer Midland Mencap is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee governed by an elected Board of Trustees. The Board is led by an annually elected Chair-person. The Trustee Board meet formerly five times per year and are responsible for approving the organisations strategy and business plan, annual budget and for publishing annual accounts on the financial position of the organisation.

Verpflegung & Versorgung

Water stations will be available on course. There will be a café at the finish providing food and drink for participants and volunteers.

Pacer

Pacemakers will be provided on the day with target times published on the race pack and at the start corrals. Marshals will display pacer flags to help runners stay with their target group, and all pacers will be on course to support participants throughout the event.

FAQ

Can I register and pay on the day?

Online sign-ups have now closed, but you can still sign up on the day at the event.

Where can I leave my bag?

Bag drop will be available at the start/finish area on the day — check the event pack or ask marshals for the exact location.

Will there be any toilet facilities?

Toilet facilities will be available at the start/finish area and at key points on the route; marshals can direct you.

Will there be food and drink to purchase?

Yes — a café at the finish will provide food and drink for participants and volunteers; there will also be water stations on course.

I am a runner with a disability and I may require support, what shall I do?

Contact the event team in advance (engage@midlandmencap.org.uk) so we can arrange suitable support and ensure you have the best experience.

When does the race start?

Wave starts begin at 09:00 (10k), 09:30 (5k) and 10:00 (1k); see your race pack for your specific start time and corral.

Is there a time limit to the race?

The event remains open until 12:00 noon; please plan your distance accordingly.

Can I change my distance on the day?

Yes — you can switch distance on the day at the registration tent, subject to availability.

I can no longer participate in the run, can I have a refund?

Contact the event team as soon as possible; support will be given on a case-by-case basis.

What if I experience a problem during the race?

Report to any marshal or the volunteer station; medical support will be available at the start/finish and along the route.

Can children participate in The Sutton Challenge?

Yes — the event is suitable for all ages and abilities; children can walk, run or wheel.

Can we bring a flag, tent or gazebo?

Small flags are welcome; please avoid large tents or gazebos to keep the course clear for participants.
