A scenic point-to-point race through northern Wisconsin featuring a paved trail and varied terrain. The event offers a 6-hour clock for marathon and half-marathon, a pasta feed, chip-timed results, and shuttle service from the finish to the start.
Verpflegung & Versorgung
On-course aid stations provide water, sports drink (Powerade), and some food. The Pasta Feed (Friday evening) and finish-line food/tent are available for participants.
Pacer
Pacemaker/Pacer guidance: The marathon and half-marathon are chip-timed with a 6-hour clock. Pacers / pacemakers are not listed; runner effort and timing are managed via the chip system. Refer to your race packet and app for assigned start corrals and target times per wave.

Is WhistleStop Marathon a Boston qualifier?
Yes. The full marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifier. Keep your official race result receipt to verify your qualifying time with Boston Marathon officials.
Do you cap registrations?
No, the races are not capped in 2026. Registration closes October 8, 2026.
How do I register?
Register online via the official registration page. Print and mail a form or visit the Ashland Chamber Office as alternatives.
When and where is packet pickup?
October 9, 2026, 12:00–9:00 PM and October 10, 2026, 6:00–7:00 AM at the Bay Area Civic Center, 320 4th Ave West, Ashland.
Are refunds allowed?
Entry fees are non-refundable. The only exception is for active military personnel deployed for service.
Can I transfer my registration to another person?
Yes, follow the transfer process: notify the organizers and have the new registrant complete a form. Bib numbers cannot be swapped without completing this process.
Can I walk the full marathon?
No walking is allowed for the full marathon within the 6-hour clock. Walking is allowed for the half marathon, 5K, and 10K.
What drinks are available on course?
Water and Powerade are provided at 15 aid stations.
Is there parking at the start?
No parking at the full marathon start. Use the parking corral at South Shore Sand & Gravel and shuttle. Half marathon has ample parking at the start. 5K/10K require shuttle use from the finish-area parking.
