True Grit is an Australian-owned military-inspired obstacle course coming to Wildwood Rock Enduro in Melbourne. It’s designed to test physical and mental grit with a mix of running, crawling and climbing through a challenging, terrain-driven course. The event supports all fitness levels and emphasizes camaraderie and community.
Wave starts keep the course flowing. 10km Elite departs 8:30am, 10km waves run through 11:00am, and 5km waves run intermittently throughout the day. Elite racers depart first and face the hardest obstacle variants; each failed obstacle incurs a 20 burpee penalty. The event encourages all participants to train, prepare, and enjoy a supportive team atmosphere.

As the Team Captain, register yourself first and create the Team Name in the system (you will see the option to “Create a Team” when you sign up). Absolutely! We can issue an invoice for teams of 10 team members or more. Lots of gym and office teams choose to register and pay for their group in one go this way. This avoids the online booking fee, too. If you’d like to take up this option, please email us on support@truegrit.com.au with the number of people you’d like to pay for, your wave length (5kms or 10kms) and who to make the invoice out to. We also offer a special group discount for teams of 10 or more.
We have a great groups offer in place for teams of 10 or more. Please email us at support@truegrit.com.au to find out more.
Your team can be as big as you want. We recommend a minimum of 2 people per team. This is to ensure that you have the extra help that may be needed to complete some obstacles.
If your team got in before you and the time slot is now sold out, please send an email to support@truegrit.com.au and our team will do our best to accommodate!
You can absolutely run the event solo. AND if you’re looking for some like-minded solo-ists then keep an eye out for the “Black Dog Wave” when registering.
