A mountain running event held on the ski jumping slope in Montafon, Vorarlberg (Austria). Participants run up the steep slope of the HS108 natural ski jump. The event features individual and team relay formats.

Pacemakers are announced on the race day program for each start wave (Startwellen) at the X Challenge Montafon. Pacers help runners maintain target paces during the event.

What are the categories available for registration?

Einzel (individual), Staffel — Teams of 3 persons (Männer, Frauen, Mixed, Feuerwehr, Familien, Lehrlinge).

What is the minimum age to participate?

Minimum age is 16 years for Einzel and for each team member in Staffel categories.

How long is the course for the Einzel category?

The Einzel course is 350 meters with ~106 meters of elevation gain on the HS108 natural ski jump.

Are there heats or qualification rounds?

Yes — each Staffel and Einzel run has two heats. The top 10 from the first heat qualify for the A final; others run the B final.

What is included in the registration fee?

A Helping Band for WWF, a Buff from MONTAFON TOURISMUS, a TRINKFLASCHE from ALPLA, catering by FRUCHTEXPRESS and RAUCH, professional timing by RACE RESULT, and the X-Finisher medal.
