The Delightful Run for Women 5k, presented by Sara Lee® Delightful® Bread, is an annual event in downtown Albany featuring a scenic, mostly downhill course with ample parking and celebration. The 48th edition is scheduled for January 7, 2026.

Water and light refreshments available at aid stations along the course; finish line provides snacks and beverages.
Pacer
Pacemaker/Pacer groups will be available for the main 5K event on Renntag, with target times displayed by start wave and pacers flagged on course.

FAQ
Can someone pick up my packet for me – or can I pick one up for someone else?
YES. You CAN have someone else pick up your race packet for you (or vice versa). They/you must bring some kind of permission note, email, text stating that you have given them permission to pick up your packet for you.
Are headphones, strollers or pets permitted?
No. Due to the size of the event, for the safety of other runners we cannot accommodate strollers. We also do not allow headphones, roller blades, skates, skateboards, dogs, or anything else that could come into contact, impede or affect another participant. This policy is in accordance with the industry best practices for large participation events.
When does online registration close?
Online registration closes 12 p.m. Monday the week of the event. Print registration forms must be postmarked three weeks out from the event.
Is there race day registration?
There is no race day registration. “Last Chance” registration will take place at the Health & Fitness Expo from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday prior to the event and Noon to 7 p.m. on Friday the day before the race. The fee is $45.

After registering I realize I cannot participate. Do you offer refunds?
Unfortunately we do not offer refunds as funds are invested into the event well ahead of time.

Can I run with my child in the 3k or Kids Run?
For the Capital Kids 3K the fee for each youth runner is $20. The course is closed and the kids run fast, so no adults are permitted to run with their children. Adults may run with their kids in the Kids Run. It is no charge for youth participants or adult chaperones. Only the kids receive a free t-shirt. Strollers are prohibited.
