Allowed & Prohibited Items
Our McLean County Fair safety & security program includes walk-through metal detectors at all entry gates. All bags, purses, strollers, etc. will be subject to search at each of the entry gates. Prohibited items include: Weapons of any kind, including but not limited to: firearms, knives, tasers or objects that appear to be weapons Fireworks or other explosive and flammable objects Outside alcoholic beverages or any illegal substance Drones or any remote-controlled toys Bikes, skateboards, skates, hoverboards, electric scooters Pets, including emotional support animals (Service animals allowed) Face coverings intended to conceal wearer’s identity (religious and health reasons permitted) Other items may be refused at the discretion of McLean County Fair management, security personnel or law enforcement. Can I bring outside food and drinks onto the fairgrounds? Yes, fair guests are welcome to bring outside food and drinks. No alcoholic beverages may be brought into the fair. Outside food and drinks are not allowed in the Grandstand. Can I bring in a backpack, bag or cooler? Yes. Backpacks, bags and small coolers/lunch bags are permitted on the fairgrounds, but are subject to search. Outside food and drinks are not allowed in the Grandstand. Can I bring my pet to the fair? No, pets are not allowed on fairgrounds during the McLean County Fair. Only service dogs or specific animals approved as part of exhibition in the 4-H Show, Jr Show or Premier Livestock Classic. Service dogs are those that have been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability. Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Can I bring my own electric mobility scooter, stroller, wagons or wheelchair? Yes, you can! Individuals are welcome to bring electric mobility scooter, stroller, wagon, wheelchair and personal conveyance vehicles (PCVs) on the fairgrounds. Please note: some areas of the fairgrounds are gravel or grass. Any golf carts or ATVs must receive prior approval from McLean County Fair staff and display a decal. Submit your request to [email protected]. E-scooters and e-bikes are not allowed on the Main Street of the fairgrounds between 8:00 am and 11:00 pm.

Are ATMs available? ATMs will be available in the Cloverleaf Hall building and the Mini Expo Building. Credit and debit cards are accepted at all gates and food vendors. The gates also accept Apple Pay. Are credit/debit cards accepted at the Fair? Yes. Credit/debit cards can be used at any fair entrance gate, at the fair ticket office, at the grandstand/beer tent, and in the carnival area. Individual merchandise vendors and food vendors may accept credit/debit cards at their own discretion. Processing fees may apply. Can I pay with cash to get into the Fair? The Main and South (4-H) gates accept cash and credit cards. West Gate is cashless; only credit card transactions or pre-purchased tickets, passes, or wristbands will be accepted.
