The San Diego Holiday Half Marathon is a fast 13.1 mile course that starts on Penasquitos Dr, turns onto Carmel Mountain Road, then travels SW along Carmel Mountain Rd with a 711-foot net elevation drop on the rolling downhill bike path, and finishes on Sorrento Valley Rd. The 5K starts on the 56 Bike Path and runs west to finish. A point-to-point with bus return.
Pacer
Target times per wave are provided on the event schedule (Renntag für Laufende): Pacers set out at :00 and :15 past each hour (e.g., 3:00, 3:15 h) from the start. Pacerflaggen are used to identify pacers on course. Pacers are included in the entry fee.

What is the race date and start time?
Race day is Saturday, December 19, 2026. The half marathon starts at 7:30 AM; the 5K also starts at 7:30 AM.
Is there parking at the start and finish?
Parking is available near the start at Carmel Mountain Rd and Rancho Carmel Dr (Carmel Mountain Plaza). The finish parking is at 11525-11661 Sorrento Valley Rd. Note: No parking at the 5K start; bus drop-off/passenger drop-off only.
What is the elevation profile?
The half marathon is a point-to-point with a 711-foot net elevation drop, featuring a rolling downhill bike path after the initial hill. The 5K has about a 100-foot net drop.
