Pacemakers are identified in the Renntag schedule and course materials; they run target times per start wave and carry pace flags. Plan to follow the official GPX and respect pacers where provided.

What is the refund policy?

Through Jan 1: 100% Through Mar 1: 50% Through Jun 1: Non Refundable *Shuttle fees and charity donations are not refundable. No rollovers or bib transfers.

Can I transfer my bib or give my bib to someone else?

No. Bib transfers are not allowed and doing so results in disqualification.

How hard is the course?

Extremely difficult mountain terrain with long, steep climbs (the 100 has multiple 2-hour climbs) and sections without defined trail. Respect the challenge.

How is the course marked?

Pink/orange flagging, reflective tape, Standhope sprinkler flags, and paper signs. Animals, weather, or hikers can disturb markings—you are responsible for staying on course.

Do I need a GPS route?

Yes—required for all runners. Have the official GPX loaded before arriving at the start. There’s no cell service in the mountains. If you leave the course, return to the last known point.

Where can I have drop bags?

See the Aid Station Chart for allowed locations. Label with name, bib, location and weatherproof if possible. Drop by end of the pre-race briefing.

Camping & Trailhead Access

Camping is a great option for race weekend, especially for those looking to stay close to start and finish areas. Please review the locations below carefully: 60K Start – Smiley Creek Area The 60K starts just outside of Smiley Creek Campground . This is the closest camping option to the 60K start. 30K Start – Fall Creek Trailhead The 30K starts near Fall Creek Trailhead . No parking is allowed for Standhope participants at this trailhead. Please plan transportation accordingly. 30K & 60K Finish – Star Hope Campground The 30K and 60K finish line is located near Star Hope Campground , which is a convenient option for camping near the finish. Maps & Additional Information For detailed maps, access points, and additional camping options, visit: Salmon-Challis National Forest Maps & Guides Please respect all campground rules, posted signage, and parking restrictions. These are active public lands and access depends on everyone following guidelines.
