Why am I being told “There is no account associated with this email address at runsignup.com?” I signed up and logged into RunSignup but cannot find this year’s Rut under “My Registered Races”
How do I change my shirt size? How do I change my start wave, bib name, or other responses? How do I transfer my registration into one of the other races? I didn’t get in, can I get on a wait list? Can I defer my entry to next year? Can I transfer or sell my entry to someone else? How do I cancel my registration? Have more questions that aren’t answered here?
If you can locate your registration under the Find a Participant page, but cannot log in using your email address, then you either registered under a different email or registered with a typo in your email address. To find out which email you used, please contact Registration@runtherut.com. with your name (as it appears on your registration), as well as the name of the race you signed up for.
Don’t worry! Most of the time you are registered, but your registration is just associated with a different account. Here are the reasons why this happens: Your registration is associated with a sub-account of another user: Someone registered you for a race using their account, so you were created as a sub-account. You can import this registration into your own account by following the guide at this link: Claiming a sub account as your own You used a different email address to register: You can merge accounts with different email addresses by following the guide at this link: Merge accounts with different email addresses. You did not complete your registration: First look to see if you are registered on The Rut’s Find a Participant page. If you still do not see yourself and have a charge on your credit card that has been posted, please contact info@runsignup.com. If you do not see yourself there, and you also have no charge on your account, then you are not registered. You registered under a typo: If you find your registration on The Rut’s Find a Participant page, but you don’t see it under your account (and you have claimed ALL possible accounts as explained above), then you may have registered under a typo. Please contact Registration@runtherut.com. for assistance with this. You registered under a duplicate sub-account: You may have accidentally registered using a duplicate sub-account that is in your name. Click the account button on your Profile page to see if there is one that has The Rut under its Upcoming Events section. You can use the Merge Two Accounts function to combine duplicate accounts.
You can change your shirt size up until the date we order them. Please refer to the following steps: Go to https://runsignup.com/, click the round icon in the upper right, then click “Sign In”, then sign in using your email address and password. Click “PROFILE” from the same round icon in the upper right. Scroll down to your races to this year’s Rut and click “Manage Registration” Click “Giveaway” Update your shirt size, then Click Continue to finish the process For additional information, please refer to the following tutorial: Update shirt size
To change your estimated finishing time, emergency contacts, announcer message, bib name, or to answer any other questions from the race entry form, please refer to the following steps. Note, all changes must be submitted prior to August 15th. Go to https://runsignup.com/, click the round icon in the upper right, then click “Sign In”, then sign in using your email address and password. Click “PROFILE” from the same round icon in the upper right. Scroll down to your races to this year’s Rut and click “Manage Registration” Click “Questions” When complete, click the blue “UPDATE RESPONSES” button at the bottom. For additional information, please refer to the following tutorial: Update my race responses *A note regarding your estimated finishing time. We ask for an estimated finishing time from all participants so that we may then distribute people into the most appropriate wave for each race. Being placed in the correct wave dramatically reduces congestion on course and improved runner experience. It’s common to update your estimated finishing time closer to the event. Estimated finsihing time cannot be adjuested after August 15th when waves are designated to runners.
Rut Runners in some races may also move down in distance. This must be done no later than August 15th. For example, the 50K can move to the 28K, 21K, or 11K, but not the VK. The 28K can move to the 21K, or 11K, but not the 50K or VK. The 21K can move to the 11K, but not the 50K, 28K, or VK. The VK can move to the 11K only. The 11K cannot transfer to another event. A transfer in distance will be charged a $10 processing fee. To do this please refer to the following steps: Go to https://runsignup.com/, click the round icon in the upper right, then click “Sign In”, then sign in using your email address and password. Click “PROFILE” from the same round icon in the upper right. Scroll down to your races and you’ll see this year’s Rut. Click “Manage Registration” Click “Transfer Event” from the top menu, then click the button labeled “START TRANSFER” Choose Your Event from the selection box. Note, you cannot switch to grayed-out events. Then click “CONTINUE” Continue through the ensuing RunSignup registration steps to complete your transfer. You will pay the $5 transfer fee at the end of the process. For additional information, please refer to the following tutorial: Transfer to another event.
The Rut does not maintain or offer a waitlist. If an event is filled we are unable to allow any more runners into it, even if registered runners cancel. This policy is in effect for the safety of all registrants.
The transfer or reselling of entries to other runners is not allowed and we enforce that by requiring a Photo ID at packet pick-up. You always have the option to downgrade to a shorter race (see above) or cancel by a certain date and receive a credit for the following years’ event (see below).
If you need to defer your race entry, we are happy to offer partial credit toward the following year’s Rut. This helps us to balance the needs of our participants with the time and nonrecoverable expenses incurred in organizing our event. Credits are awarded based on the following tiered structure by date. Defer by 11:59 PM on June 1st: 60% credit to the following year’s Rut (e.g. If you spend $100 on a race this year, and decide to cancel, you will have $60 to go towards the following year’s race registration for whatever distance you choose.) Defer by 11:59 PM on August 1st: 40% credit to the following year’s Rut (e.g. If you spend $100 on a race this year, and decide to cancel, you will have $40 to go towards the following years race registration for whatever distance you choose.) Important Details about Race Credit Credits can only be used for the following year. To ensure those with credits can enter into the following year’s race, we will have a priority registration window available prior to registration opening to the public. Once the event fills the credit can no longer be used. How to Defer Your Registration – To receive credit, runners must defer their registration through their Runsignup account. Credits cannot be applied retroactively, and cancellations must be completed by the runner themselves. To cancel your registration and receive your credit please refer to this Runsignup tutorial or follow the steps below: Go to https://runsignup.com/, click the round icon in the upper right, then click “Sign In”, then sign in using your email address and password. Click “PROFILE” from the same round icon in the upper right. Scroll down to your races and you’ll see this year’s Rut. Click “Manage Registration” Click the Deferrals menu item Follow the provided steps and continue *Reminder that you may sign up with your credit prior to registration opening to the public. We will share details in the late fall with all those who cancel for credit. Have more questions that aren’t answered here? Please Contact Rut Registration Director Dana Bandy at Registration@runtherut.com.
